Ok, I would like to know what the hieght, witdth, depth of the players are and also how high they can jump.
I would also like to know what would be a good hieght for steps in stairs and the highist an object should be that a player can jump up onto.

QUESTIONS ABOUT DIMENSIONS

The player is 96 units tall, 32 units wide, and when crouched the player is 64 units tall (if I don't remember it wrong).
16 units (on the grid) = 1 foot (the player is 6 feet tall).
If you make a stair, 16 units is the highest increase you can have for each step. If you go higher the player must jump to get up.
I'm not sure about jumping but I would suspect that the limit is either 2x16=32 or 3x16=48.
Just make a test map and try diffrent things, when you add a info_player... you will notice that it is 96 tall and 32 wide (check the bounding box for it in mohradiant)

DANG IT ALL
I just remembered. I made all my rooms 104 units high in my first real map. Dang it now I have to go through it and redo the room hieghts. See what happens when you start biulding before you ask questions. (don't be like me) Anyone know what a good room hieght is for regular room. You know so that you dont look like youre going to hit youre head or get the feeling like youre jack in the giants house.

In the real world, most ceiling hights are very close to 8' (128 game units). Much older houses had 9' and 10 ' ceilings. Old stores would have high ceilings as well. Standard interior doors are 2' 6" or 2' 8" and entry doors are geneally 3' 0". Standard residential height is 6' 8" and commercial can be 7' 0". Other doors, such as bathrooms and closets, are smaller, even as small as 2' 0" or even smaler. Just remember though, that a player needs to fit through the opening which is made smaller by the thickness of the "origin". I make my doors 2 units thick which works out to 1 1/2". They look right in the game. Heavy doors should be thicker, 3 or 4 units thick. I have not tried a door as narrow as 2' 2", which in theory would be the narrowest that a player could get through. It's best to stay close to the 2' 8" to 3' 0", then a player doesn't have to be real precise to get through it. They look very realistic in the game at these sizes as well.
1 game unit = 3/4"
16 game units = 1'
Take some measurements of buildings and structures you wold like to replicate. Convert the measurements to decimal feet and multiply by 16.
