I'm having a bit of trouble with icons. I know what to add to the desktop.ini ile so the certain folder displays the icon, and i know that both the desktop.ini and *.ico need to be inside the folder, but i want to use my own custom icons, not others. Does anybody know either:

the dimensions of an icon file (minimum [if there is a minimum] , maximum) so i can create an image and save it as a .ico

or if they know the proper method of how to create an icon file, buit i'm alright on getting it to display

If I'm correct a .ico file consists actually of 4 small bitmaps of different sizes and color depths...

right thanks do you mean four different files kinda of compressed into one? i'll try find out how make one.

Icons are normally 32X32, but the smaller ones are 16X16. There are some nice programs for making icons. One of the best is called "Icon Forge" and a trial version can be downloaded here:
