He's only going to serve a normal sentance. For what most people around the world want, the punishment is going to be zilch. The trial is going to be in iraq, i hope its fair for the victims of his brutal actions.

the trial shouldnt be held in Iraq!!! The Iraqi's will either:

1. Execute him - this would make him a martyr and would be likely to stir up more terrorist attacks

2. Bribed / Blackmail - Saddam still has some supporters - they could easily threaten the Iraqi's. The fear of Saddam's supporters will not be forgotten in Iraq for some time - basicly they will be scared the hell out of.

3. They will probably, failing the one above, be some attempt to rescue him. The security in Iraq is nowhere near as stable as the security in Britain or America, and any rescue attempt would be useless in more secure countries.

My view on this is they should give him a life sentence (and i mean LIFE, not just 15 years), keep him in the most secure prison in the world (if only Alcatraz was still functional).

The US will never release him to Irac, We will allow the irac people to feel like thier making the call but after spending billions of dollars on his capture he will never see the light of day again!

well, i dont think our legal system will let us keep him. think about what he has done to america that can be proven. didly squat right? only reason we were even looking for him is becasue he threatened bushes dad.
