The insane and very cool '.MAP Community map project'

Post by Bjarne BZR »

As a result of a brain meltdown in a thread the other day, we decided to try to make a "community map". A bit like the stories where you add one word each :).

The rules.
1) This map is the basis that we start from.
2) The first mapper to post a claim in this thread after the current "owner" releases it, gets to work on the map the next week(maximum).
3) The current owner releases the map by posting "I release the community map" and adding a download link to it (or mailing it to the one that claims it if you do not have a web space).
4) The current "owner" may make any changes additions wants to. But should not remove structures from the map (changing stuff is OK... like if someone put in a bridge that you don't like: you may rebuild/edit it but not remove it all together). Also known as the "don't piss on other mappers hard work rule".
5) After releasing a map, post at least one screenshot of the map.
6) The map type is Objective. That way we can easily convert it to all the other multiplayer game types.
7) The map must work in Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault ( so no models or textures from the expansions, unless you export them to MOH:AA ).

By claiming the map you promise to obey these rules.

Good luck soldiers!

Here is a screen of our humble beginnings: a large are with unedited LODterrain, edged by a rock wall. A road and a river leads from one spawn to the other.

Oh, I almost forgot: "I release the community map"!

Maybe some interesting details to know from the start: is it going to be a sp/dm/obj map? For mohaa/spearhead/breakthrough?

Hope it's going to be pretty 8-)

Well... claim the map and you can do whatever you like with it... :D

I'd personally like the map to become a showcase from all our exelent developers here at .MAP... but as some of us are a tad crazy, I guess we SHOULD expect some stunts beeing pulled in this map :)

Actually I'm a bit surpriced that no one has claimed the map yet... you guys away on christmas hollidays?

PS: I guess you COULD fit a sub into it... maby not full scale... or maby widen the end of the creak into a harbour? With a sub pen?

Hey sounds good, We could make it Multiplayer.

Allies drive into battle via TruckBeds, and the Axis Do also.

The screnery will be awesome, Big mountians all around.

We'll add a lot of Drivable and Player-Useable objects too.
