Spiral Staircase???

Post by dooguesgoober4 »

I was hoping someone could help me with creating a spiral staircase for my level. I'm not exactly sure how I should move the vertices of my stairs to rotate around the center "pillar," any help would be appreciated!!!

Funny some1 brough this up, I'm lookin 4 a spiral staircase.

The 1 from the link above is not wat im lookin 4.

I'm lookin 4 a cork screw type, on a center pole.
Guess I'll build 1 unless some1 has a link to a prefab.

Try this make a 8 sided brush . clone it and use the L key to rescale the second one you made and move it to the center of the first one . Make a brush and on the top view press the E key to change to edge edit mode . Move the corners of the 3rd brush to match the inside and outside edges of the first 2 brushes .

Sorry for not mentioning this earlier but I wasn't looking for that prefab because I have already seen that. Thanks bdbodger for your wonderful insight....the corkscrew staircase is truly something different!!

Maybe we can use this post to post as many different versions of spiral staircases anybody can think of!

it does work :)
u may have to do 2 or 3 staircases before u uderstand which parameter does what and u may have to do a little calculator work before, but nevertheless it works!
