Press Use (e) to follow a player
You guys know this, right? In spectator mode, this is the first thing you read, in the bottom of the page.
Where is that? Is this a thread? where is this thread/script? I've been digging the whole thing and didn't find it...
Anyone knows????

well what u can do is this, there is a txt file (sorry i forget the name) in mohaas foler. u can add, seta cg_3rdperson view 1 or something like that to it. then when u enter the game u are in 3rd person view. also add cg_showcrosshar 0 (something similar) in there do u dont have a corsshair and viola. u have to enter it in the txt file, if u put it in console, its will say its cheat protected (cuz it is a cheat) ill check back a little later and tell u exactly what to do.

just a silly idea, if you create a black square in front of the players head, and bind it
then script
while (1)
{
for (local.i=1;local.i<=$player.size;local.i++)
{
if ($player[1].dmteam == "spectator")
$black_out show
wait 0.5
}
else
{
$black_out hide
wait 0.5
}
}
then script
while (1)
{
for (local.i=1;local.i<=$player.size;local.i++)
{
if ($player[1].dmteam == "spectator")
$black_out show
wait 0.5
}
else
{
$black_out hide
wait 0.5
}
}
hope this helps, prob not cos it's all foreign 2 me :-/

Ah! So your question here is actually: How do I get rid of the the "Press Use (e) to follow a player" text... right?Krane wrote:Too bad...I'm making a "screenshooters" mod without anything on the screen so we can take screenshots and don't need to work on PS too much...but I'm affraid the "Press Use" stuff will have to be erased in PS...Well, at least I took the rest out.
Well you do like this ( from my Making films with MOH:AA tutorial ) :
How to get rid of the "Press fire to join" message when in spectator mode
This only works server-side so you wont be able to take it off if you don't know the person who runs the server. Although if you're running your own server (want to make a cool demo of your new map) you can edit the 'localization.txt' file. The best way is to create a folder and name it 'global', put this folder into your Main folder. Next step is to get the 'localization.txt' file from your 'Pak0.pk3' . Put this into your 'main/global' folder (create it if it does not exist). Okay so far so good... Now open 'localization.txt' in your text editor and search for "Press fire to join". You'll find two (2) lines of the same and it will look something like this:
Code: Select all
{ "Press fire to join the battle!" "Press fire to join the battle!"}Code: Select all
{ "Press fire to join the battle!" " "}-

Thanks all of you guys for the tips. Bjarne BZR: special thanks m8, I'll get rid of the "Press fire stuff" as you said. Omniscient, the 3rd person thing would be cool, try to find where is this stuff.
But the "Press Use(e)..." stuff is still a mystery. I think is built-in the game, like tltrude said...
Txs again, m8s
