New Bots Map - The Sieged Castle

Post by Krane »

My new "production". It have a OBJ and a DM version, both using bots (or not, it's up to you). It was made for 30 bots, lots of fun, etc...

The Sieged Castle

There's an interesting aspect of this map: Me and jv_map were thinking about a good and "healty" way to have and/or add custom bot models in an already made bots maps, and we came with the jvbot-mod-skin-pack, which is the player skins, the bots models and scripts to spawn them. You can check it here. This map was the place for testing these skins.

Some screenies here

More stuff soon...

PS: If a reviewer wants to review this map, it's welcome!:D

Enjoy!

Cheers!

I'm in a completly different computer right now and the links are working. Brinkster doesn't seem to accept frames, so I changed the screenshots page. Other than that, you can try a direct link to the map or to the screenies page.

PS: After 1 month playing this map w/o bugs, I found 1 in the obj version...there is 1 very little place where the bots seems to find difficult to go to the 2nd bomb. map will be updated by tomorrow (01/21). Sorry.

Very Nice there are parts of the map that i really like, But for me the only thing that lets it down is the big portion of the Southern France map that is in there, I love playing Team Deathmatch most of all and southern france is one of my faves.

Can you guys believe on this? Less than 24h later I found this:

http://gamersmaps.com/pafiledb/pafiledb ... ile&id=993

 And in SH hahaha  I should say, I don't mind gamersmap to host my map, but you guys are really very fast ahahahah

As I posted before, I've found on very RARE but very annoying bug that can prevent 1 bot (if the "choosen one" is in the balcony at the main hall) to plant the 2nd bomb. I fixed, but it's very hard to test, cos the possibilities that this happens again are just a few...I've been watching the bots for about 1h and nothng is wrong.

There's another issue: I realize that 30 bots in the obj version is too much! I'll reduce this # to 20.

I'm compiling right now and will update the file (with the same name) as soon as possible. I'll post a message here saying "OK"!

A NOTE TO SH USERS: I tested this map in SH only 1 time. I notice that MY VIS_LEAFGROUPS ARE NOT WORKING ON SH! So I recommend playing this map in AA, UNLESS YOU HAVE A VERY, VERY GOOD MACHINE!!!! (handle 30 bots w/o vis_leafgroups was too much for my poor GeForce MX 200)..

Thanks for the understanding! :)

A fellow m8 from France discovered an angle where the vis leafgroups should not be targeted. I fixed! Sorry for the inconvinience!

I need to say this is an excellent map 8-)

Very nice architecture with a little southern france feeling :) excellent bot paths, too.

I'm afraid however that the radar station will only have limited effectiveness when placed inside 10ft walls :P ('Feind gesichted!' - 'Wo?' - 'Uhhhm... fast in Reichweite :?')

(sorry for my crap German ;))

Anyway keep up the good work... this is now my fav bot testing map :D

Thaks for your feedback, m8s! :D

You're right about the radar station, jv. I had no idea what to blow there, so I putted the radar station...

bobzilla: I haven't update the file since 01/23/04 1:50 pm us time. You're free to test it as you wish and tell me if you find something wrong...

Thanks again, m8s!
