Is there any possible way to make the door open upwards like a manhole cover or just like a door that is laying on the ground????

Yes, it is all possible.

Just add the origin to where you want the door hinge to be.

Okay...whenever i do that and try to open the door, it just slides along the floor...... :?

Are you using func>rotatingdoor?

It sounds like your using func>door

We just covered this a couple of days ago:

I've never seen Func_Rotating Door rotate on any axis other than Z. But it can be created through scripts relatively easy. Check out this forum thread and the following link for the .zip file. It has a .map and .pk3 file with lots of door examples.
