check your preferences make sure that use quake3 .map format is "not" checked I found that if it is and you have surfaceparms the map won't load anything after the brush with the surfaceparms . Also if you have a bad brush every brush after the bad brush won't load sometimes .

Damn, none of that worked **sigh**.I guess its over for me and map making, lol, and I was just enjoying it.Had my first good map going and then saved it,reloaded it and poof almost all my brushes were gone. The thing is I was going and editing and sometimes when I used the "CSG Subtract" some brushes would come back which is wierd. But then I saved it again and it went back:P

u could open the .map file with a texteditor to see whether there are some brushes and i'm quite sure there are.
Check a Mohradiant Setup tutorial and set the preferences exactly as stated there.
in menu View, uncheck (if checked) 'Cubic Clipping'.

if you are really stuck open radiant to go to map info on the edit menu it will tell you you have xxx number of brushes . If it says you have lets say 100 and you actually have 200 open the map in notepad and find brush number hmm either 100 or 101 and delete it . You don't have to worry about renumbering the brushes just open the map .

Grim, ok, it kept some of your brushes right? like a brush here and a brush there? If so, the same thing happened to me, i was mapping, then saved, closed it, came back to it later and half the brushes (if not more) were missing, no specific pattern, just scattered. I got mad because the level was almost done and just didnt want to recreate it, so i quit it. That was about 3-5 months ago, but recently i opened it and it was ALL back, i dont know what i changed but i havent heard it on here yet, ill take a look and see what i did. Are/were those brushes detailed brushes?

This happened to me a few days ago. I think you open your map in notepad and if you have a trigger multiple with message set in the keys and values, the remove that line in notepad

GrimReaper sent me the map.
When I open it in MohRadiant, I get in the console (for each line defining a face) a 'Warning: Line # is incomplete [02]'.
In fact, in a text editor I can see each line broken into two like:
( -370 -171 285 ) ( -425 -171 285 ) ( -425 -180 285 ) algiers/brick1 0 0
0.00 1 1 0 0 0
instead of
( -370 -171 285 ) ( -425 -171 285 ) ( -425 -180 285 ) algiers/brick1 0 0 0.00 1 1 0 0 0
Nevertheless, after having finished loading the map it looks quite fine and saving the map does repair these errors...

So, the map is (then) working here, anybody an idea how this error can happen?

I have no clue wacko... maybe (just a wild guess)..maybe if you had brushes selected when you saved your map? Would that matter or no? Just a stupid guess :P

well, u know when u work with LOD, and it doesnt let u move brushes if u exit with the v key? well maybe when u scale brushes and exit using the s key it gets all pissy too.

Something ironic about that omniscient is it happened as soon as i got done with LOD terrain s*it:P...so thats probibly it.And actually stupidly i was playing around with all the LOD things and i dont know what any of them do.So I guess the moral of the story is let a n00b mess up and make a pro find out whats wrong. If you want to see new errors
