*.Scr

Post by |Row|*GEN*J( )|?G3 »

Omg I have the gayest problem...i understand that all computers reconize *.scr files as screen savers.

Now my problem is that it sense it is reconized as a screen saver, it dont work in the map....how can i stop it from change to a screen saver, or what do i do to make it stay a text file.

well, to keep it as a textfile, just dont save it as a scr lol. it being a screensaver isnt why it isnt working. it probably isnt working because u labeled it wrong or have it in the wrong place.

Windows thinks its a screensaver when you double klick it, but it is still just a text file... nust open notpad and Do Archive->Open... on the file.

Or rename it to *.txt when you edit it, and rename it again to *.scr when you want to test it in MOH:AA.

You can get Winzip to open pk3s with script by changing the "auto install screensavers" option in Winzip.

It is safe to change the .scr extention to open with Wordpad or Notepad.

to re-iterate, re-naming it wont hurt it at all. u can also go to file/setting or something and u can set it to open scrs with notepad, i forget where that is though. if u want it ill do alittle figuring out.

Maybee this is allready told to you all but the fastest way to load a .scr .tik .urc etc file in notepad is doing the following

1.) start
2.) run
3.) type "notepad" <press enter>
4.) drag your script file into your notepoad

voila there u go

what do u mean "start the screensaver" double clicking on an scr installs the screensaver, not runs it. there is an alternate way to install screensaver too so it really doesnt effect anyhting, unless ur a screensaver fanatic and d/l them alot.

what i mean, is if u setup your windows to open your *.scr files automatic in notepad your windows can crash if it goes to screensaver modem, because it tries to load a screensaver.
