Dont put the func_rain brush inside... and the outside func_rain brushes must be some units away from walls as well because the rain is generated inside the func_rain brush, but it may end up inside it after falling.

Hey,

I did all that before and it didnt seem to work, could i email you the .map file and you take a look?

If not, how many units would you suggest it being away from my building? and can i have rain above the roof? Cause on my current map, you can reach a roof

Sorry, don't have the time to do that.

Depends on how the rain is configured... about 16-32 units... start somewhere around those values and calibrate it if its not good. And yes, you should be able to have it over the roof ( a few units off ).

Well let me tell you right now if you think you did it right then this is the problem.

You can't clone func rain brushes. I don't know why or how but the editor links them together for some reason. Make each rain brush one at a time. Also make sure they are far enough away from the buildings so the rain doesn't drift in.

Don't do either. Take the time to make each rain brush.

it also doesn't work (you get rain inside buildings) if you select all the rain brushes at once then do the func_rain. it all has to be done individually.
