error message

Okay I have loaded up the Mbulider and got this error message has anyne got any clues what it means

Error load portals couldn't read

C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\main\maps\snow

The snow is the map I am worrking on

I think it is looking for your .prt file. Is it in that directory? Mine is in a /ProjName/maps/dm directory structure.

Check your path settings in Radient. There is also a good (although somewhat dense) tutorial on file structure. It took me most of the day to adapt the tutorial's setup to my own preferences.

I haven't had to mess with any of that since I got it set up the first time. Which is good since I'm still new to this, too. But I'm sure someone more experienced might have other ideas.

The .prt file cannot be found because it was not written. You have a leak in your map, and you need to fix it before the .prt file can be written and the vis can be compiled. A .lin file was probobly written instead. If so,
open up Radiant, and goto File-->Pointfile and a jagged red line will lead out of your map at the leak spot.

Thanks crunch and diego my map had a leak that I did not know about and I found out it was two light that were leaking like a hole in a bucket.

Anyway, cheers for the sound help
