ENHANCING stock MAPS!

so i spoke to an admin on the IRC channel today and he recommended i check out the forums here.. my question is.. i've played MOHAAS enough to have seen the enhanced stock maps that people have made.. the Bazaar one with the barbwire and the Algeris with the MG42's. and the what not... he tells me that many of these things were never changed in Radiant but in fact where made with scripts.. i'm new to scripting MAPS i've done skins and weapons b4... if someone can point me in the right direction that would be great... i would like to eventually be able to ENHANCE my own stock maps.. i have some great ideas for BANHOF

Hi there and welcome to .MAP.

As for scripting I suggest that you Look at the scrips for the standard maps ( the *.scr files in pak5.pk3 in MOH:AA ) and at the same time refer to this tutorial on the subject while you read them.

And when you have questions search the forum, and if you still don't find the answer: ask us. :)

what ur going to end up having to do is a spawn the items, which u will learn about in those tuts. just to give u a heads up do when u hit that part u pay attenetion.

i'm going to search the forum's right now.. but what i'm really looking for is some simple EXAMPLES of some map scripts.. that people have written to give me some ideas.. i read that TUT and it was great.. VERY simmilar to C++ especially the statments.. i see now why you were talking abuot me having to "spawn" certain items in the maps.. but now i'm wondering.. how do i find certain parts of the map if i'm doing it all in scripts.. most likely some sort of vectors?

Go to the place you want to spawn something, and write coord in the console. That should give you the coordinates you need, as well as the orientation.

At the end of this tutorial, I add stuff to a standard map using only scripting: /t.php?id=78

here is a crate script for mohaa aa

local.static = spawn script_model
local.static model "static/indycrate.tik"
local.static.origin = ( 692 1129 468) *
local.static.angles = ( 0 90 0 )
local.static solid

*(change this number to place it on the map.Make sure if theres a - in front or back you leave a space.)
