Ladders
hi.
I want to build a ladder so i followed the tutorial, however, when i go to test it i can't climb up it.
first i made the ladder from brushes and then textured it, next i dragged a brush over the ladder as it says in the tutorial, then i right clicked it on the 2d view and went func>ladder, then pressed "n" to bring up the entity list and clicked on the 180 button. Next i pressed "n" again to close the entity list and then de-selected the ladder, however, i can't seem to climb up it.
anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

This topic has been covered a lot, you should try searching for it. But while I'm here I'll try to help. The func_ladder brush should surround the ladder. It should be placed on the side that you want to climb up. The structure ladder brush that you made is mostly for looks. Anyway make sure the func_ladder brush has the ladder texture on it from texture>common. Put the brush right in front of the structure brush and do what the tutorial says. Also make sure you are using the right angle for it. I hope this helped and not confused you more.
probably the angle is whats wrong,i also ran into that problem cause in the tuturial it says 2 make the angle 180 but thats not always true,it depends on the direction of the ladder .when u are looking from the top view ,if the place u want 2 climb from is up then the angle is 270 ,if its down its 90 ,not sure about the east and west though
.i hope this solved ur problem
