Problem whit BOTS MAPS help please

Hello good people

I have encunter a bit of a problem playing BOT's maps, the first time
I downloaded Bridge to far and my bro and I had a blast so we went
to search the net for other MOP maps and we did fine a few.

So we checked them out but now for a raison or another each time we
want to play a bot map we are send back to the beginnibg of the game
( you know where there ar a buch of phone on the desk)

How come ??

We also found out that in some Zip file theire are no "JV_BOT 01.pk3"
and still they are name BOTS MAPS.

On the otherhand some Zip have that file and some does not we are
wondering why???

Does only one file JV_BOT 01.pk is anough for "ALL" maps with bots???

BTW we do not know who is "JV" but my bro and I owe this fellow or girl

In conclusion if someone could be kind anough to answer our questions
it would be greatly appreciated thank you very much good people.

p.s. do you know a place where we can download LOT of BOT MAPS?

The jv_bot01.zip file should be there, but maby some bot map creators have put the files it containds inside their own pk3:s? This COULD be a problem. Try removing all non standard maps from your main dir and put them back one by one and start mohaa after each to find the offender...

( pk3:s are just renamed zip files b.t.w. )

I have followed your instructions. I tried the map " Saving Private Ryan"

first it is the map which take the longest time to download ( in the game)
second their was 3 files one of them was a .SCR so I only install in the
game the map obj_spr-final-scene and played the game but after that
one side won instead then respawen for another play ( wen the board
showing the scores appear ) it's stock no control on the mouse or keeboard..I had to reboot beside the score board a picture of the
movie appear how come??? I didn't install the .scr in the main folder??!!

Do you have any idea ???

No, no idea... but if I remeber correctly: the author of that map is a member in these forums... make a search.

The bridge to far AWESOME lot of action not so easy to acomplish the mission lot of BOT squad coming at you (didn't even have time to
reload my machine gun lol) and what about those DOGS lol.

This is one that my bro and I prefer and we play it a lot the other map
that that we like very much too is "grenzuebergang" lol it is the one in
winter time and the allies must attack a bunker , again lot of action
plenty of bots.

We also played "monastery" nice map I don't know if it could have
more agressive bots ? espacialy to defend the canons and to prevent allies to enter (like a kind of mission impossible lol) .

An old ex-soldier like me and my brother love action and fast thinking
(those bots mentioned earlyer can kick our but lol) fantastic.

Yes Sumo we know all of your maps and apreciate very much the
hard work you did so we old timer can enjoy ourself.

Please dont quit on us we need you and all the people who give so
much of their time so the majority have lot of fun we thank you
very much

Hi RANKER

The most common reason for the problem you described (i.e. being kicked back to the main menu when starting a bot map) is that you have a beta version of the bots in your /main (or /mainta) folder. So if you have the mp_ai_beta.pk3 you need to remove it. If you don't have this file then I wouldn't know what the problem is, so please follow the following steps:

1. Start mohaa.
2. Go to options->advanced options and make sure 'console' is enabled.
3. Bring down the console by pressing ~ (left from the 1 - might be a different token on a french keyboard).
4. Type 'developer 1' [enter]
5. Type 'logfile 2' [enter]
6. Start a bot map and wait till it kicks you back to the main menu.
7. Quit mohaa.
8. Find the file 'qconsole.log' in your /main folder, open it with a text editor and copy & paste it down here (it can be huge though ).

That should give us some insight

it is one of the best map we like to play do not tel me that we
have to trash it !!! please please please I am begging you master

Can you fix that file for us ???

I followed step by step your instructions but for a reason or another
the ~ does not bring down the consol so doing I can not type nothing
maybe I am to darned old for this delicate manoeuvre lol

It is the only beta map we have in our main folder so following your
instructions we removed it
( but just incase I told my bro to keep that file in a folder on his desktop
as I said " just incase" )

Once again we apreciate very much your expertise without people
like you the life wouldn't be so enjoyable please do not be shy and
continu your great work

Well the mp_ai_beta2.pk3 file can be fixed really easily... but I can't fix it for you right now... maybe later if you want.

You could also try fixing it yourself like this:

1. Rename mp_ai_beta2.pk3 to mp_ai_beta2.zip (ignore the warning message)
2. Open this file with winzip (usually double-clicking on the file should do that)
3. Scroll down until you find the file 'jv_mp_players.scr'. Then remove this file by selecting it and pressing delete.
4. Rename the file back to .pk3 and place it in your /main folder. That should do it!

Note: make sure your operating system shows file extensions for all file types. You can generally enable this by going to tools -> folder options in any folder window.

Yous are so kind I cant beleive it geee if only everyone on other forums
could be at less ? as kind as you are the world would be much better.

Only if you want it to, it would be nice of you to fix that file for us but
as I understand that you may already have lot of work I will understand
if you couldn't and already you did a lot only by answering my questions
so it is up to you

Here is the result

Everything went superb until , as you told me to do ,I close everything
and rename the file back to .pk3

I tought that the file would take is previous appearence ( window file)
but it didn't still appearing as a Zip File not knowing what to do.

...check what a newb like me did, I put the darned zip in the main
and for sure not surprisingly ha ha ha ha it didn't work in
the game.

So the old grumpy man delete the zip file (nanana it was a copy
of the original mp_ai_beta2.pk3 so yes I stil have that file on my
desktop)

{ the old ranker look like a fool but he didn't mind knowing that
JV_MAP his a kind person }

BTW I read this forum a lot these days ( people are awesome ) and
it's seems that only a bunch of person make maps and mod so my
question is can and old bugger like me can learn how to make maps??
( no mod fro now) if so, where to start and read ??

Sory web master I'm not in the right place for that question as it is
relevant to maping but I wanted to reply to small_sumo be assure
that I will not do that next time
