The min file will generate itself when ya run the map the 1st time,,if the map is a dm map,,,once ya run the map one time ya will see that the min file will appear in the dm folder,,,and no its not required to run the map,,,as far as me understanding what the min file is for i have no idea ,,,sorry hehehe

When ya say maplist do ya mean multiplayer maplist or do ya mean the maplist ya get when ya type maplist in the console??? If ya mean the maplist that ya get when ya open the console with the ~ key and type maplist,,,the only way i know ya map will not show up in that list is if ya pk3 is not structured correctly,,for example a dm map in a pk3 would be structured like so,,ya would make a maps folder and inside that put a dm folder or obj were ya would place ya bsp and script,,,ya could also for a test take ya bsp and script outta the custom pk3 ya made and just put it in the directory C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\main\maps\dm or maps/obj or just maps for single player map to see if ya map shows up in maplist,,,if it shows up then ya know for sure the custom pk3 file ya made could be the culprit lol,,,hope this helps

A .min file is what creates the loading bar for the level's load screen. If you notice, the first time you load a new map, all you see is a flashing icon that says 'loading', and everytime after you'll have a loading bar.

Please include the min file in your pk3!!!

Macintosh users cannot play your map online with pc users without the min file!!!

Apple community says thanks!

I think the .min file also helps to preload the models, sounds, and texture images used in the map.
