These Both ring true, i use autocad 8 hours a day 5 days a week and have built 2d versions of me maps in them lol12. You find yourself trying to use Q3R keyboard shortcuts in AutoCAD at work.
13.Your "real life / job" starts to get in the way.

I map so much my wife has given up, she brings me dinner at the computer every night.
Glad 2 c that this is common.
Oh yeah, I built my house in perfect detail, Sat back and thought well, what the hell do I do with it now.

I actually do this:
You stare at the DOS compile screen for more than 20 minutes.
You post more than 10 messages a day to the level editing forums
You walk into a building, all you can think is "nice architecture, but these people need to learn how to texture."
You lose the plot watching Star Trek because you're concentrating on watching the walls in the background.
You take your eyes off Brittany Spears dancing in a video to look at the stage design.
You have a low opinion of "real" architects because all they build is boxes.
You look at walls in buildings and everywhere you go and try to envision it rendered in the quake engine.
You take the previous vision and actually do it.
Your family and friends have learned to avoid the subject of computers and video games.
You always wonder if the Light phase is doing something or has crashed, no matter how much you tell yourself it's fine.
(im dead washed on ideas)
You want another idea for a map you look around your room in the hope of finding one.
True so true
You have zillions of unfinished maps dating back to Doom.
I do this alot
You go out for a drive and all the architecture you see makes you think... That would look good in a level.
Not the cathedral,..... another building.
You walk into Durham Cathedral and wonder why the fps are so high.
You ask to be excused from the dinner table so you can carry on building your battle ship.
This Explains the C I got on my last quiz...
In math when doing Trigonometry, etc. you get a little carried away with your diagrams and before long you have the blueprints for a new map.
You ask your manager if you can install Radiant on your computer at work.
(except I dont tell him).
You spend more time in game getting killed while admiring the architecture rather than fraggin other people.
LOL
If you press your fingers into your eyes really hard, instead of seeing little floaty black things like everyone else, you see vertices, vectors, and an FPS number.
I do this ALL the time
Your girlfriend says, "beautiful sky", and all you can do is think about taking a photo of it, and importing it into Q3radiant for your newest map. ''
You rent videos just to check out the architecture you dimly remember from when you saw it 3 years ago.
I only go to the bathroom when my map is compiling
Your personal activities revolve around long compiles.
You think of sports cars in terms of .md3's.
You try to press the "screenshot" button every time you see a real beauty somewhere.
You find yourself constantly thinking: "I must buy a digital camera ..."
