If you are talking about the sunflare it goes like this.

In the worldspawn in the entity window where you set the sunlight values enter this.

key: sunflarename
value: sun

Hope that helps.

Also, make sure you put
suncolor/ 50 50 50
and
ambientlight/ 15 15 15

in the worldspawn k/v fields. The numbers can be adjusted as you get used to it, the higher the number, the brighter the light.

The sky has it's own "light" that does not affect the world, so these other values are needed.

This looks like a good thread to add my ? So here it goes. How do you remove the sun, sundirection, and sunflare values once they are put in? I realised after the fact that I didnt want a sun in my map and I cannot remove it. Is there a certain order in which you have to do this? Or am I forced into keeping it? :?

@ziptie2k2: Open your entity window and be sure you are in worldspawn.

Click on the k/v pair you want to delete so that it is highlighted, then click on the "Delete key/pair" button.
You can do that for any entry in the entity window.

Thanks crunch, thats what I try but when I highlight any of the entries, and click delete, nothing happens. Thats what I mean by possibly an order of deleting them. i.e. if I have to delete the first entry I made, first.
If that makes sense :P

Ziptie, yeah I know the problem of deleting those worldspawn values.

To solve it open the .map in notepad, you will see the values at the top of the document, delete them in notepad, save and your good to go :)

(maybe make a copy of the .map before you destroy it in notepad)
Philip II of Macedon sent a message to Sparta:
"If I win this war, you will be slaves forever."
The Spartan ephors sent back a one word reply: "If".
