Triangle brush
Alright I want to make a triangle brush. But I dont want it large. I want a short wide triangle. For a a house, and a roof on top. How can I do that. I know how too make a triangle brush but all sides stay same length. I want the bottom length lnger than the sides.

Use the clipper tool.

Once u have your triangular brush, selcet it, press 'e' and drag the edges where u want them to be...
Sometimes, dragging one edge will cause other edges to move as well. This is caused by the fact that the vertices surrounding one face must of course lie in one plane. Nevertheless, once u get used to it, vertex editing is much fun and a powerful tool.
In other cases, u can also select the brush and press 'v' to enter vertex editing mode. Here u can drag the vertices. This one would will cut a face in two as soon as its surrounding vertices aren't in one plane anymore. Another nice tool. Which one to use in which case is best answered by yourself after having played around with both for a while...

err, cant overlap verticies with brushes like you can with patches(at least i have never been able to). Try the clipper funtcion or create a 3 sided brush then manipulate the vertices to obtain the shape you want.Diego wrote:Manipulate the brush Verticies so that it is the shape you want.

This is awesome, especially if you use it often and correctly. Make sure you're looking at the brush from the right view perspective also.
Good luck

I once was lost, but now........... I'm still lost!
Reading the word 'perspective' reminds me that I should mention, that u also can drag the edges or vertices in the 3D-view. This way it is in some cases easier to 'catch' certain points...ziptie2k2 wrote:This is awesome, especially if you use it often and correctly. Using Wacko's edge method, you can also easily make a triangle from a rectangle.
Just draw your rectangle brush, hit E, and select one of the upper corners, and drag it up and to the middle.
Then take the opposite upper corner and drag it down and over. (If your original rectangle was 16 grid tall, move this 2nd point 16 over and 16 down...)

Aside from the clipper, this is one of the easiest ways to make a triangle.
But since there are so many different ways, I am sure that one of these suggestions will work for you.

LOL: That's what I think about rotating doors and the different ways suggested to make them best.Gen Cobra wrote:Everybody has their own way of doin things but my God you people make everything more difficult than it needs to be.
But some have NO way to approach a certain task or they think that there's just one way, and then we ought to tell them all possibilities they can choose from, depending either on their personal taste or on the circumstances.
That's why they put a question here, after all
