Nice image crunch, but wouldn't it be easier to just cut a brush and use CSG hollow/subtract? Doing that, you'll end up with two roof planes, two gable ends, and an attic floor.
Doesn't merging brush verticies cause duplicate planes?

You can still hollow this just the same if you want an accessible attic area.tltrude wrote:wouldn't it be easier to just cut a brush and use CSG hollow/subtract? Doing that, you'll end up with two roof planes, two gable ends, and an attic floor
This is a method I came up with by accident a while ago, which I almost never use.
I usually just clip a block to the shape I want, and then do as you described.
I offered it to echo as a possible way that he might like.
Doing this, the entire edge "disappears." There are no duplicate planes. The merged edge simply does not exist anymore.tltrude wrote:Doesn't merging brush verticies cause duplicate planes?
To those of us that do what we are describing, there is no difficulty at all. The only difficulty may be for echo to choose the way he wants to do it.Gen Cobra wrote:my God you people make everything more difficult than it needs to be.
But it does seem that a simple q has attracted a LOT of attention.
