Dynamic light

Post by tltrude »

Make a script_model and give it these key/values.

Key: targetname
Value: lite1 // or whatever you want

Key: model
Value: fx/dummy.tik

Key: overbright_range
Value: 2.0

Key: linear //make it shine in the direction the angle is set
Value: 1

Then in your script, this line will turn it on.

$lite1 light 1 1 1 300 // white color

The first three number are for color, and the last is for size.

This line will turn it off.

$lite1 light 0 0 0 64 // no color

Hope that helps!

You can use lighton and lightoff too with that .

$lite1 lighton

$lite1 lightoff

I didn't know that you could use linear with dynamic lights .

i did exactly what said exactly what siad tltrude i got the effect that i wanted but its very hard to see hat the light is on!!!!!

i made a script model with

Key: model
Value: fx/dummy.tik

Key: overbright_range
Value: 2.0

Key: linear <===== dont know really what is the use i tested with and wthout and i got same effets
Value: 1

key:targetname
value:light1

scripts

Code: Select all

main:

level waittill prespawn

$light1 light 0 0 0 64

level waitill spawn
light:

$light1 light 2 2 2 500

its not the total script

but it work the light is off and wait for trigger

tried a lot of value light 50 25 50 300 ; light 15 20 30 500

and i got always the same results a poor light quasily invisible!!!!

the script model is near of the object (not an entity or script object)that i want to light ......

any idea ?
