60Hz refreshrate in mohaa ##SOLVED##

Post by wacko »

i once could fix it, but now i don't know anymore how: every game here runs in 1280x1024 with a refresh rate of 85Hz, just MOHAA stays at 60Hz and I can't persuade it to use a higher value. I have this problem now on two PCs, 1st with a GeForce 4 Ti4200 (Detonator 52.16), 2nd with a GeForce FX5900Ultra (Detonator 53.30).
Any ideas?

Right click on your desptop and select properties. Now, click on the advanced tab. This should bring up setting for your video card and such. Look for a tab that says "Monitor" or something similar. You should be able to adjust your screen refresh rate from there.

this is working in fact, weird, but thanks nevertheless.
i must set my desktop resolution to 1600x1200/75Hz then i get this in MOHAA as well. Unfortunately 1600x1200 is crap for normal work, so I can't leave the desktop that way but must select 1280x1024/85Hz after I left MOHAA.
So each time I launch MOHAA, I'll first have to set the resolution/refresh rate to what I want ingame!? Isn't there a way to define the desired refresh rate for any ingame resolution independant of what the desktop settings are? This seems to work in other games...

i think there is a program that does this,i thikn it was 3 deep or 3e color deep(something like that).i never tried it but i did run the install once and the logo was enhancing gaming or something like that so i guess it should do the job.

3deep is dead, no longer available, also it seems to have done rather different things.
But, once I was in google (because of 3deep), I searched for "MOHAA refreshrate" and voil?, I found the solution (I'm a little embarrassed to not have used google earlier for this...).
Anyway: in mohaa/main/configs/unnamedsoldier.cfg below // cvars add a line seta r_displayrefresh "75" or whatever rate your monitor can handle in the choosen resolution and everything's fine :D

Couldn't find anything senseful with "3E deep" in google... anyway, maybe it's gone from its former website because its copyrights were sold to the producer of your vga card and won't be distributed anywhere else anymore
