yes ....another compiling prob

Post by M&M »

well i did search thru the compiling problems thread b4 and i saw the same error (posted by jv_map) and the answer didnt solve the problem i tried posting there but it was ignored so i dont want 2 post again as this thread is becoming 2 big with not alot of real solutions(8 pages!!!)
there are 2 versions of this error, anyways here it is:
1st version
on mohradient when i try 2 compile i recieve an error, somethin like this

Code: Select all

*********ERROR***********

Q3MAP Version 1.34
then the paramters of q3map are displayed.
this wasnt much of a problem since i dloaded mbuilder but i still think it was faster when it used 2 work b4 instead of running mbuilder and choosing the map then compiling.if any1 can solve this problem plz tell me but the real problem i want solved is the 2nd version

2nd version:
this error happened on mbuilder a while ago,and it happened when i changed the name of the map ,there were 2 spaces which i later replaced with underscores but still same error, when i changed the name back 2 test (the original name) the map compiled so can any1 tell y this happened

more info:im using mohaa with no custom pk3s at all .

The "Q3MAP Version 1.34" is spit out when you feed q3map parameters it cant understand, or none at all.

The other prob is because of the spaces, yes... and maby you did not refresh/restart mbuilder after the rename? Its not that smart when it comes to catching up withthe surrounding world :)

well,i did close and open mbuilder a thousand times cause i know its
Its not that smart when it comes to catching up withthe surrounding world
but that didnt solve the problem ,i replaced the spaces with underscores which should solve the problem imo ,but it didnt.

i didnt quit get what u want there wacko,do u want me 2 paste the paths?
and where does the compile log go?i remember it was junk.txt and was placed in the temp folder in windows (i might be wrong here),i was searching 4 it 2 paste it here but i couldnt find it so i just wrote the important part (the error part).

For MBuilder:

You can make seperate logs for all steps, or just the one you need. Click on "change" and put the code after your compile options. The text file can have any name you wish.

-v > c:\WINDOWS\desktop\log_bsp.txt

-v > c:\WINDOWS\desktop\log_vis.txt

-final > c:\WINDOWS\desktop\log_light.txt

I have them going to my desktop, so they can be trashed easily after looking them over. But, your path to the desktop may be different. Also, using these logs, nothing will be printed to the DOS window during the compile.
