well,i have made a prefab of a reconstructed version of the biggest mansion in remagen (mohdm3) .its the one in the middle of the map and its not accesible.i decompiled the map and took out the mansion and a few of its surroundings(pavenment and poles) and put it into a new map.i kept working on it until i refined it and now it looks better than the original.now all that i need is 2 put it into my lovely map .but i cant, everytime i load it i cant rotate it into the correct position.everytime i try 2 rotate it mohradient closes without any appearent reason (not even with an error message).the prefab is made of alot of brushes as this was a big mansion, could thet be the problem.i tried rotating it by alt + arrow keys.but its very slow in rotation and it would take ages 2 get it in the correct position.i would appreciate any help on this problem as the progress on my map has been frozen until i can fix this (its almost done ,this should be the last addon)
helpful info:i have a 2.4ghz,512kb cache/256ddram/64 mbs geforce 4 mx 440.i have mohaa and it has no custom pk3s other than endtefks (or whatever its name is).the map size is small (something like the size of stalingrad,or maybe a bit bigger).the prefab consists of 272 brushes +9 entities (bushes)
unexplainable error,mohradient crashes 2 desktop

Load it into a blank map and rotate it to how you would like it aligned in your real map, and save it as a prefab again. Now maybe it will appear facing the correct way when you try to load it into your map, and you'll have no need to rotate it at all.
I don't know if that will work, but it's worth a try.

Radient
Radiant doesn't handle memory very well. When your rotate that many brushes at one time, it can't keep up. Next time, try turning down the quality of the video render in the editor.
I have used this prefab practice quite a bit, but with alot of detail like that, radiant cant handle it all (as tom said). The only way I have avoided that problem is to go into the map you want the prefab to be loade into, and then create a base brush or brushes (like a footprint of the spot) and then save them to prefab and bring them up into a new map to create the prefab exactly were it needs to be. I know I'm rambling but I wasted about 3 days on a building only to find out I cant load it into the main map.
I once was lost, but now........... I'm still lost!
.hmm exactly what happened 2 me 2,same 3 days!!!!I know I'm rambling but I wasted about 3 days on a building only to find out I cant load it into the main map.
however i used the keyboard 2 rotate it and it rotated nicely and precisly.the mouse tends 2 be an unprecise way.ill use hte keyboard from now on,much easier and mohradient didnt crash at all(but u still have 2 wait a while b4 the command is done).
neat, that could help speed things up as mohradient is very slow in responding 2 commandsNext time, try turning down the quality of the video render in the editor
