Ramp up farplane?

Post by small_sumo »

Can you do that with triggers? I want an area of a map to have say 200 farplane and rest of the level 3500.

Thanks.

i think, what ever value you have set the farplane 2. is what will cover the whole level. i don't think u can have to different values.

but this might help it's pulsating fog tut. i'm sure if you mess around wit it
you might get a result

Yes, it's done in m6l2a (Verschneit) - when you get near the communications hangars you need to blow up (as you're rounding the corner on the road), it increases (or decreases? I think increases!) the farplane, then puts it back when you go back up the road.

I'm sure you know this already, but some might not - the farplane value is global to the map, so you don't want to change it in multi-player maps, at least not while people are playing, since one person's location would change everyone else's farplane. It might make sense to change the farplane over time to simulate weather effects, or change it when you're doing a Tug-of-War-style end-of-map animation.

I'm not really certain about very much with regards to this game since it's not exactly documented well, but only the World class provides properties/methods for changing the farplane, so I guess you can't change it on a per-player or per-area basis.

You can change fog in multiplayer but it affects the level no way do change it for just one person . It is $world farplane $world is the whole map .
