i have a couple questions about setting up a non.ded server 4 obj maps
anyways ,
1st : how do u end an obj map after a specified amount of time and move onto the next map in rotation regardless how many victories or losses a team had in that map.when i play a tdm or ffa i usually set an amount of time (like 10 mins) and c who got the highest score ,i would like 2 apply that 2 obj but everytime a team wins the time is restarted (i dont quite understand how the time functions in an obj)
2nd:i havent tried this b4 but if i set the respawning 2 one in all maps would that mean that the only condition of wining is by setting the bomb (finishing the obj whatever it is).
questions about obj server settings

respawning
Setting respawning to 1 means the players will respawn if thry are killed. the game will run untill the time runs out or the objectives are completed. If it is set to 0, player don't respawn and the game ends if one team is killed, the time runs out, or the objectives are completed.
Setting the map rotation time for objective games wont end a game when the time runs out--it just swiches to the next map when current game is over.

respawn objective rounds dont end till the bomb is detonated, or the roundlimit expires.
as far as setting up an objective server, you can use all three of the limit commands in different ways...
Roundlimit - This controls the length of rounds, but has nothing at all to do directly with changing the map.
Fraglimit - this controls how many rounds must be won in order for the rotation to move on.
Timelimit - this is not often used in objective but it CAN be. If you set a timelimit in objective, the map will continue to run objective rounds(the length of the roundlimit until the timelimit has expired, at which point, the game will wait for the current round to end, and then change the map.
if you have set a timelimit and a roundlimit, the map will change as soon as it hits either limit.
for a indefinate number of round use....
set timelimit 15
set roundlimit 5
set fraglimit 0
or whatever time ratios you want for round/time

-howcome u said that a roundlimit only ends a round in a certain map and begins another without rotating until the timelimit ends?if you have set a timelimit and a roundlimit, the map will change as soon as it hits either limit.
-also,are u sure of that?cause i remember i tried it and it didnt work.i set a timelimit but i ended up finishing b4 that .also ,say i put Time limit 13 and round limit say 5 how many rounds will there be ?a set of 5 - 5 -3 or 5 - 5 and then the map rotates.if you have set a timelimit and a roundlimit, the map will change as soon as it hits either limit.
if a team wins the 1st round after 2 mins ,the 2nd round after 4 ,the 3rd round after 3 mins that would make 2+4+3=9mins ,would that be deducted from the main time (13 mins) or would it expire the time (3 rounds 13/5).
can i make it end the current round as soon as the timelimit ends?Timelimit - this is not often used in objective but it CAN be. and can i show the time limit as well as the round limit while playing ?
when i type timelimit and roundlimit i meant... timelimit and FRAGlimit, sorry.
when it hits either of those map, will always change. while roundlimit on the otherhand, will not change the map.
You cant have timelimit and roundlimit both showing, you will only see the roundlimit, but timelimit will change the map. However, it will awlays wait till the end of the current round.
this is my current understanding of the limit commands and how they effect rotations, after many experiments trying to set up cfg's and rotations for custom maps. On occasion, these things dont always wokr out like they should... but I think that was mostly because of how I set it up, and it wasnt flagged past the current board....
anyway... last weekend I had to set up a rotation for ctf and freezetag. They are both round based(which works same as objective), however the CTF was working on a 15 minute round after which whoever scored most won, while the freezetag ends when one whole team is dead. So with frags, ctf would be a pain with that logn roundlimit, and without frags, freezetag could last less then a minute.... So I added a timelimit of 15. The roundlimit was also 15, so there was no way the ctf boards could go more then one round, while the freezetag would simply run for 15 minutes as well, because there was no fraglimit.
Same thing happens with mixed roations... you cant have small fraglimits on TDM's and you might not want 15 or 20 minutes on an obj cause people tend to camp.... so a small roundlimit will effect the obj but not the tdm(least I think it didnt last time =) )
