Big black shadow?

Post by bighoss »

Hey guys, I'm not sure what caused it, but I seem to have a big black shadow on one of my walls. I'm not exactly sure how to get rid of it. I've tried deleting the brush and making a new one, didnt work. I then tried moving the entire map and that also didnt work. I did a search on here, and I couldnt' seem to find this topic, which I think there was one of this before. I just don't know what to look for. If anyone could help me with this problem, I would be very greatful.

All i figured out Hoss was that all you had to do was take that one big wall brush and split into a bunch of smaller wall brushes....dunno why it worked but it did!!

Hey! Wait! Just let me get this straight: the shadow came from nowhere, and disappeared then you split the wall into two pieces?

I actually split the wall into about 7 or 8 smaller burshes.....but i also use -fast on the Vis compile....that might've done something too...

I changed what Doog did. He had it in a lot of pieces and I changed it to two pieces and the shadow never came back. So there was no need to have that many brushes makin up the wall, only two worked.

I remember in a post i read a while back saying something like...if you had a bunch of smaller brushes connected to one larger brush...it creates weird effects, thats what made me think of splitting the wall brush....

Nope I have no clue what made the shadow. There is nothing big enough in my map to do that. Other than the ceiling brush, there was nothing anywhere near that size.
