More or less the same. You move about differently and you start by subtracting from a solid world instead of adding to a void as in quake. You also do the compile in the editor and a nice touch is that you actually see the lighting while you edit. There are also tons of settings for everything that you add such as lights and entities. pressing N in radiant brings up next to nothing in comparison.
I guess it would take a week or so the learn the basics. Assuming you don't have learning difficulties.
edit:
You also don't work the same way with brushes as you do in radiant. here you work more with subtracting and adding shapes and tend to move them less. But it's not so different. Radiant is easier to be creative in I think. But I started to map in Worldcraft and unrealEd and managed it quite well. I now have a hard time going back as it's somewhat more rigid.

Looking for a good game? Play GO the ancient asian game of strategy.
Which games can I mod using worldcraft or Unreal ( unreal I guess uses unreal )
Maybe I should start playing with them to get the feel for it before I dive headfirst into a crazy production frenzy on the job (assuming I get the job).
I do have some mild learning difficulties, I have been studying women for years and still have no clue how they work

Ravenshield is the last one I tried my hand on. Never released anything but did almost a complete level until I quit plying that horrible unrealistic game.

Unreal is the right name for that game. Multiplyer was very unreal in the first game and I never tried any of the sequels after that. I only played a demo for worldcraft and it was fetureless landscapes that you build factories on, kind of like AOE with no trees or grass--sucked too.
If ps2 is using that old engine, they wont expect much from you. But, ps2 is old as far as game consoles go anyway. Doom3 is the hottest game engine coming down the pike right now.
Tom, what exactly do you do as a day job ? If I have the experience to apply for this kinda job ( which in fact I do when reading the job description ) you should be more than qualified to be a senior level designer, I know it pays nicely and after all it would be a pleasure to get paid to build some maps.
You more than anyone I see around should be getting paid for this stuff.
??
edit: I have probably spent no more than a couple of hours playing ps2

Actually, I'm a 53 year old retired USAF Master Sergeant. But, I do love the creative/artistic sides of mapping and scripting! Gameplay design is probably the hardest part of game making, and if you get good at it, the game companies will bust a gut to get their hand on you!
