well,in my map i cant raise the fps above 40 in a certain area .after trying many ways 2 fix the fps in my map and typing r_showtris 2 in that area i can barely c anything drawn (that shouldnt be).usually in any other map when i see something like that after typing r_showtris 2 the fps is somewhere above 80 .but in this map the fps is somewhere around 30 :? .i have tried alot of stuff but they all failed .the only problem i can see in that area is this error

it keeps appearing in the console so much that when i type anything in the console i cant c it as its buffered out quickly .i think thats the reason for the low fps since the processor tries "something" alot then fails and displays this error.
in another post bdbodger wrote:you get that error when you can see too many surfaces that have to be lite . I had a map where you parachuted in and got that error when in the air but ok on the ground
while mapping ,i remember that this error appeared (i think) when i inserted alot of effects that i was trying out of curiosity ,but im sure i removed them all .i even used the entity find tool to search for more but there wasnt .i desperatly need any fix for it so i can finally release the map .

Have you tried opening a copy of the .map file with a text editor (like Wordpad)? You can search it for "spherical" to find out which brushes/entities are using it.

well,i tried that now and nothing came up.well actually when i typed spherical and did the search this came up

and the red "s" was highlighted .usually when i type something in the search its highlighted .
also ,i tried searching this brush using the find tool because im desperate .and i found it somewhere else in the map far away from the problem zone

Are there a lot of models in the area? Can you show a screenshot of the worst fps view?

Yup it's probably too many entities or tempmodels at one particular spot with rgbGen lightingSpherical in their shaders. It might also happen when you put a texture intended for a model on a regular wall...

well,its kind of a secret weapons room with alot of weapons.so i guess yes,there are alot of entities .so what is the solution? delete them? .there is another area in the map with a simliar amount of weapons and doesnt make that error when i look in its general direction
also,could that be the reason for lower fps? .ill try 2 post a screenie l8r

well,as wierd as it may sound .i loaded up the same versio of the map yesterday and tried to recreate the error and get it on a screenie .but i failed to find the error !!! :? .
i tried recompiling the map itself but i still couldnt get the error back .its pretty wierd but i guess my problem has been solved 8-) :D .i hope it doesnt come up after i release the map :!:
