Damn, I wish I could brag about something!

Post by Balr14 »

I'm old, bald, out-of-shape and my hearing is bad. I don't make many maps any more because I'm really slow. My cars are all pretty old. I have 4 websites, but I don't have anything on any of them. I'm so bad at playing games, people encourage me to cheat.

I know, I have a pretty decent computer! Athlon 64 3400+! At least that's something.

Well, I did buy 1000 shares of EA about 6 weeks before MOHAA came out. I don't know that I'd brag about it, but it shows I'm not too dumb for an old geezer.

I would say being old and getting bald is something to be proud of, I wish to make it that far :)

"If I win this war, you will be slaves forever."
The Spartan ephors sent back a one word reply: "If".

I got somethings to brag about! First, I won $30 bowling in our league sweeper ( doesn't count, just for prizes). Of course, I won it by bowling 99 pins under my average... worst series.

I also finally figured out a way to create enough foliage for a Guadal Canal: Battle of Bloody Ridge map! That was tough. Took me about 8 tries.

Hey Balr14, I've failed using the foliage properties on textures... you have a quick tip on how to get it to work correctly? I want it on 2 things: a regular textured patch mesh with a corn field texture, and the texture of a pine tree model.

If you mean surfaceparm foliage, I don't think it does much either.

Bjarne:

You mean the leaves and crap falling, I thought you meant the sound. I'll get back to you on that. I've done it, just don't remember how, exactly. I'm old, I forget stuff easy. I'll have to go look at a couple older maps.

Thank you, but when you've been doing this stuff as long as I have you are bound to learn a few tricks. I just pass it on, so when I forget, I have someone to ask.
