Game starting problem

Post by billyshears »

Hello all. First post for me. Here is the question:

When I use Mbuilder and hit build map, it works great.... but when the game loads, it starts one of the missions from the game and not the map I made. I only made the square room map from the tutorial. I am using AA.

Also, when the game loads and the mission starts, there is no light except from the truck behind the truck I am in.

One other question... when I am making a map, and it goes to autosave, it says that it can't cause my folder is a read only folder. I have tried to change this, but it keeps going back to read only. So I just turn the autosave feature off. Of course, I would like it to work. Any ideas there?

Well for one are you loading the correct map? You may have just click the wrong one  . As for the light, you said it's not loading the right map right? So it's not a problem there.

Did you make the folder the autosave is set to? (File > Project Settings)
There be no such folder will cause that problem.

Btw, welcome to .map! :D

hi, welcome to .map :D

u first have to save the map once manually to give Radiant a filename for autosave

Thanks for the help! I solved it myself. My map was named: m1l1. I renamed it: tet and now it works! I read somewhere on another tutorial to name it m1l1 for the first level, so that is what I did. Don't know why that didn't work.

Will try the auto save tip later, thanks. I did set up the auto save like the setup tutorial said to. So maybe it is that I have to save it once first manually. Thanks again.

Well it didn't work because that is the name of the first level in the game!
