As far as I can remember (i've to use MACs in office), printing to file is not connected to the application but rather to the printer setup (in Win and OS both). You probably will have to setup a (imaginery) Postscript printer, though. The file will then be a postscript file and this can be converted into a pdf file (with Acrobat Destiller for example). So, u can't print to a pdf-file. Even the option to write a pdf directly from Office or any other application needs first a postscript file which then will be converted.
@Jack: that's working just if u have Adobe Acrobat installed.
Jack, that is an addin from Adobe installed together with some Adobe product. Its not a standard feature of Office. ( Not of anu Office I've seen at least ). But there ARE free PDF printer drivers out there.

yes, good idea! m4rine did mention it. It has something regarding bookmarks and even seems to have an option to export to pdf, as m4rine stated, too. And there's even a OpenOffice for OSX http://www.openoffice.org/ is the place to get it, but it's 170MB... maybe u find a magazine with cd-rom holding it

Right, I don't have that either. I have Office 2003.
