skybox?

ok, i'm gonna sound like a complete idiot....

How do i make a skybox?

and relatedly, how do i get lighting, short of filling my map with light brushes?

i got ambient to work, but sunlight won't...

as you may have guessed, i am extremely new to this...

It is a big hollow box with sky texture on all sides of the brushes. The bottom brush can be all caulk texture, if your using LOD terrain. Although, you can use the bottom brush as your ground, if you texture the top face of it with grass or whatever.

this site isnt only a discussion board .there is a tut section which is v.cool .it helped me start out and now most of the tuts are on my hardrive
