Check your script for errors. Or, launch your map and check the console for script errors.

Ok, is your map SP or MP?

Code: Select all

main:
exec global/exploder.scr

Mohaa wants to see at least one thread in a script file.

Perhaps put a level waittill (pre)spawn in there.

Code: Select all

main:
    level waittill spawn
    exec global/exploder.scr
end

i dont know what a pre-spawn is or what it does... ugh.... what format should i save the script in... BTW im using microsoft word so i have alot of options instead of notepad... its saved in text only format right now... im going to try that wait till spawn thing...

my script is going to look like:

main:
level waittill spawn
exec global/exploder.scr
end

so i hope it works.. i will be back to tell you if it does or not :o

ok it dont work! i really need to figure out why when i add .scr on the end of my sciprt files it dont save it as a script file it saves as a screen saver!!!!

(i changed the swear words so i dont get in trouble or something)

ok here is every thing ive done...

saved the script as testxpld.scr and my map is saved as testxpld
ive tried every thing! its saved in the maps folder but the .map of testxpld is in dm folder... because its multiplayer and its a deathmatch map and i have an exploding wall...

i dont know what 'encoding' type i should save it as ive been using ANSI because it was the first option of 4... the other 3 were Unicode, Unicode big endian, and UTF-8... im so confused... those are the 4 options that i get with notepad..

I'd advise you to not use Word, but just notepad or something.

The .scr file should be in the directory where your .bsp file is in.

Ok, couple of things you need to do.........

1. Un-associate ".scr" with screen savers....
2. USE NOTEPAD and use the "save as" option
3. Save the .scr file in this format: "mapname.scr" USE the quotes around the name of the map in the file name box... so literally type "mapname.scr" then click save. Next time you open notepad you will go to 'open' and then in the lower box where the 'files of type' are you want to choose 'all files' then you will see your .scr files also.

Now, to fix the screen saver....(I have XP too)
1. open Explorer
2. go to 'tools' then 'folder options'
3. click on 'file types' tab
4. click on 'new' button
5. type 'scr' into the box and hit 'enter'
6. the program will ask if you want to 'un-associate' scr with a current file type, say 'yes'.

that should do it. I also work in ME (at the office when I have time) and it doesn't seem to be so picky. Being sure to always 'save as' and typing the file name with quotes around it and manually adding the .scr is usually enough. Good luck!

ok umm... how do i un-associate .scr with screen savers???? :?

thats all i dont know how to do... so i am going to try and save it as "testxpld.scr" because that is the name of the map.. and i will include the quotations  so i hope this works!!! :x :x :x

i still dont know if it will work without un-associating .scr with screen savers... :?
