pk3
A pk3 is just a compressed (zipped) version of the "main" folder. The compilers make a file, with your map's name, that end with extention ".bsp". That file does not have to be compressed for you to test it. It is best to place it in main/maps/dm (create a dm folder if needed), so that you have sound and weapons for testing.
Although it will load with only a the info_player_start, it is good to have the other types of player spawn points as well--so you can test it with a friend.
Is the black screen you are talking about the console? Does it have writing on it?

dont think it was the console as he would have worked his way around it
it seems u removed some other "important" file while u were removing the pk3 custom files .try checkin again to ensure that u havent removed anything else .assuming u have mohaa (without expansions) u should have all the files named pak#.pk3 in ur main .
here is another way ,make a shortcut of mohaa.exe (or if u already have one) then open its properties .
and after the target path type
this should make a qconsole.log file in ur main folder which might contain what error exactly causes a black screen .if u cant make heads or tails from it just post it here
and we will try 2 help
