Unable to select single face.
Hey, I am having trouble being able to select single faces of a brush. I have never had this problem before, and now all of a sudden, I will Shift-Ctrl-Click on a face and it wont select it. I am able to select the whole brush but that is not what I want to do. Is there some setting that may have gotten switched? This is very annoying cause it is slowing down my progress by ALOT. Please help! Thanks.
Oh and they are not HUGE face so it wouldn't like take a while for it to compute the click.

eyeball
The eyeball icon is what sets your mouse movement controls (key M). You may have changed to a different control setting without noticing. There is a 2 or 3 buttom mouse setting in preferences. It could also be some mouse control program you have running. Have you tried using the Ctrl and Shift on the right side of your keyboard?
Okay, thanks for all the suggestions guys! I think the problem is this: I am making a remake of Remagen, and I revers compiled the BSP into a .MAP file, and now when I am trying to work on that it is causing this problem. Because it only does this on brushes that were already there. So when I create my own brush in the level, and can edit it just fine. But it is just some faces on the brushes that are already there, the ones that went through the BSP to MAP conversion. So I think that is what is causing the problem. I may be wrong, but that is really the only thing that makes sense because I can edit brushes that I make myself just fine, it's only the ones that are already there. Thanks again for the suggestions.

decompiler
The decompiler creates thousands of extra overlapping brushes (six brushes for every oringal brush). It also ceates thousands of duplicate plains which must be removed. Most of the utility brushes will be missing. Most of the textures will be misaligned. So, in short, it is not worth the effort to repair all the errors decompiled maps contain.
Re: decompiler
Agreed. But its more 1 brush for every 1 face in the game. Any caulked or clipped surfaces do not come back with the decompiled map. So you may have 3 brushes for an orignal brush.tltrude wrote:The decompiler creates thousands of extra overlapping brushes (six brushes for every oringal brush). You can do it, but it will take hours and hours. If you want to do it, you'd best do a small map, like Remegan.
Months
Well, I wouldn't say hours and hours--I would say months! If you are still determined to do it, copy a few brushes at a time to a new map. Repair them, and them go back for a few more. With luck, you will be done by the time Mohpa comes out in the Fall.
One more thing, how did the people do Stalingrad 2 and SF2 and stuff? Did they just make them completely from scratch? It seems like it would be very hard to replicate a map so closly like that, of course making all the changes that you want as well, but still. SF2 is VERY similar to the regular SF, and I just don't quite get how you could make it SO similar. Just wondering
