Awww man lol new error i never seen before

Post by =Sgt. Daniel R. O*Neil= »

I went to compile my map and it tells me *******ERROR***** Backwards Tree Volume. Its really weird because i dont have any trees and the terrain that i have is all one peice. Well it was like 5 or 6 peices but theyve been merged to represent one. So its strange to me that half of the piece doesnt show up in the game. Anyone recognize the error?

Yah seen it before.

Make a backup of your map file, remove all terrain and try to recompile.

If it works you'll have to consider recreating the terrain :? , you might be able to track down which section is causing the error.

Yeah...i kind of figured i was gonna have to delete it. Ill start again from scrath. Irritating because this is the start of a new map. Im doing a very deep jungle map based on vietnam. I havent done anything fancy yet. It was at its most basic form. All ive done was edit the vertex of the pieces of terrain. However i had parts of the terrain rise up to a very high point on both sides. So i dont know ill be more careful though when dealing with the terrain. What it was was 2 large lanes of grassy area rising up to a giant cliff i made. The 2 paths connected at two pits in the gravel area which was going to be a pond. Im sure ill find another way around it so i can dodge this problem. BAH !!! Again thanks very much for your help

Not sure if this is the problem, but you can only raise the terrain a certain amount without errors. Less than 512 comes to mind, it may be less.

Ok now ive got some sort of a problem. I decide i would completely start over. So i made a very small Piece of terrain and i lowerd two parts down about 5 small squares. And i went to compile it. I got the Backwards Tree Volume ERROR again. So im thinking what the hell is going on? So i started a brand NEW map again and i got a piece of caulk and i went LODterrain/createfrombrush. And i didnt edit a single piece of the terrain. I left it flat as flat can be. ANd i went to compile it and BAM !!! Same ERROR again. And now ive discovered that if i even so much as put anything as LOD terrain i will get this error. I havent the slightest what the hell is going on. Ok with all that info if anyone has anyidea why this is doing that plz let me know, because i cant do anything at all until this thing stops
