whew. this is going to be long.
my grandpa was is WWII himself as a flying fortress airman (coms gear i believe) and i'd never taken much interest in him until MOH came out and i wanted to know if he'd been near any of those places MOHAA visits. e wasn't, but now im a WWII geek (one more thing to add to my geek list) and just absolutely love MOH and WWII stuff. so if i'd never gotten MOH i'd never been able to know what i do now.
on the other hand, games like grand theft auto i find fun as well because they're unusual and free.
but i would never do such things as in those games. some of those are just sick.
i know reward rather than punishment is more effective to me, if someone were to say....
"clean your room or no desert to you!"
i'd have a worse attitude about it and be ruled by fear. on the other hand...
"clean your room and you'll get an extra scoop of dessert"
i'd be zooming up to room so fast that you'd think a wild saber toothed chipmunk was after me

.
what about you, compare it, since we have nothing to
gain from doing a task or not doing it, we are less apt to want it.
but if there's light at the end of the tunnel, we've got something to gain from something, we'll probably do it. thus reality TV.
a good citizen award or cash bonus would be nice, or a small tax levy (like 10% off taxes) for people who haven't committed a crime in 5-10 years. exempting minors. (oh wait, that's me!)
whew, better stop before people start nodding off inside their coffee cups listeneing to me.
