wellsince u said mapping and not scripting id say genius. there really sint much too it, u bild triangles and click on functions. if creativeness was included, oops.

hmmm yes though LOD Terrain canbe quite hard, i cant do both mappers/scripting cos some dont script or vice versa. Also thats just basics of mapping, entity values and surface roperties and curvers and verices are a little harder, but i agree not too taxing.

I chose 'good' as I know my things but I lack creativity and will power to get my maps done ... so usually I stick to scripting as that can be done much faster and requires no creativity, just some inventivity
There's a lot more in mapping than just putting two brushes next to each other...
A lot more than what I know... A lot more than what I even think I know...
I'd say I'm an "Average" mapper... I'm that guy with good ideas and a respectable creativity that lacks, nevertheless, the hability to bring those ideas to work...
(Now, if this forum was actually a part of my (working) brain, then I'm a genius...)
well,id also call myself average .i have alot of cool plans about maps ,but im either too bored or too lazy to put them into action .since the 1st map i did wasnt as good as id expected it 2 be after completing it ,im kinda demoralized to do another
also,i think u got some of the poll options swapped (if they were in order)
i thnk quite good is better than good ,am i right?
I'd say i'm good, i catch on to things amazingly fast, i learned how to manipulate LOD and within a month was fluidly making realistic beaches and terrain.
brushwork and stuff like that aren't my specialty since i don't always work on those coordinate lines so sometimes i get sloppy brushwork....
well, its better if u use both methods (i do it)
specially if the object i want 2 caulk has more faces not caulked .
like if i have a box (6 sides) with one side that should be caulked ,i generally use texture ,then caulk .
but if it was like 3 or more sides (half,or more)i do the caulk, then texture
I put myself as "Quite Poor", although my general brushwork is good, I never caulk, not sure about vis thingys, and am usually too lazy to actually finish anything...
Here's a thought, and I agree with lizardkid, texture the brush with a texture, then build the room, then texture everything with caulk then redo the texturing...

aslong as in the end caullk is applies right i dont see how the process makes u a worse mapper. is scripting a factor in this poll, cuz if it is i wanna change my rating of myself.
