Compiling (again?)

Post by frogman »

Hi!
I managed to compile my first map from within mohradiant, but now it will not work whatever I try. Even drawing a new map won't work. is this normal? I know all tutorials say that compiling from dos is the best but this way just seems more convenient (maybe I'm just lazy). Wide question I know, but any ideas?

Get MBuilder, cool compile prog, with not too much work attached to make it work :), i'm not sure about the mohradiant compile tools, never used them personally

mod pk3s

Be sure to put all non-original pk3s in a temp folder in main. If you have too many in main, your map wont compile.

Thankyou everyone for your replys. They were very helpful. removing extra PK3 files helped and using Mbuilder really helped, I'll be using this from now on. Thankyou again.

its alittle quicker (instead of finding mbuilder and opening it ,then ......) and best thing of all ,it calculates he time of the compilation :D !!!
I'll be using this from now on.
mbuilder is very useful .however compiling thru mohradient is better imho ,cause u can set different commands with different paramters from the project settings .
like if u wnna quick vis ,u simply click fast vis .or if u want a bsp compile with -blocksize 0 ,u could make a new command with that option !!
i also have a command for running the game

:P you can do this in MBuilder too, and you have more settings like Verbose, Fast, Final, NoDetail etc... but radiant compile tells you the time it will take? might give it a shimmy when i get my comp back :)

well,i didnt mean i that way .i was saying u have different commands with different parameters ,unlike mbuilder ,u can oly coose one set of parameters at a time !! .lets say ur doing a full compile for ur map ,so u put all the usual settings .later u discover something wrong and u fix it ,but now u want to make a quick recompile to be sure .so u have to change the settings .but in mohradient u just click on a different button
