F12 is system setup, but I don't remember what F2 is, or maybe vice versa

When I get home I'll figure it out for everyone...

well thsi is hoe to turn it off so i bet turingin it on is the same process, (from google, first result when searching "turning on hyperthreading"

Ok as i said before turning hyperthreading of will make quite a difference theres only 2 ways to turn of hyperthreading 1 is format and make sure hyperthreading is disabled in bios
If you have it on and you dont want to do a fresh install this is how

disable hyperthreading in bios then when you have booted go to device manager click on computer and select multiprocceser pc then click update driver but dont let windows update instead tell it to list of drivers, then you will see advance configuration and power interface (ACPI)pc select this and then reboot, after reboot it will ask you to reboot one more time after it installed the driver there you have it now you have no hyperthreading

Now after you do your test and you think its not worth it (I doubt it very much) but if you want hyperthreading back go to device manager and choose roll back driver reboot 2 times and you have it again

yikes !!!

well,i did some more searching as well .and apparently is hould be activated directly once i install xp !! so i opened the device manaer and to my surprise i found 2 processors .however when i pressed ctrl+alt+del to open the task manager ,then opened the page that has some info on the system (ram and cpu load ) and i only found one graph for the cpu .if hyperthreading was enabled i should've seen 2 graphs .so apparently ,windows xp admits i have hyperthreading but it isnt on yet !!!

well ,i was frustrated by the lack of progress . i bought another comp with hyperthreading a few weeks ago (for my cybercafe) and xp detected the hyperthreading thing very quickly and it showed 2 charts for each processor the real and virtual one .

this screen shows what i mean .this is how it looks on the 2.6 like this .but on the other one it has a split in the area marked and it shows another processor
each graph is for a processor

but due to the coming exams i had to change my priorities .so i will check it in the summer holidays i am afraid
