Loading map error

Post by Dingo »

I compiled my map ok and then I copy and pasted my bsp. file to a folder I made in a my main...(maps folder in main and in maps folder dm folder)... so I put it in there and when I went into the game to try it out and see how it turned out, I got to the start game and selected my map and then loaded it. After I loaded it, it sent me back to the main menu like it would if you dont have a certian map. What went wrong?

when you have that kinf of error open console (enable it in advanced menu then to open console the key would be "?") then watch the ERROR MESSAGE then paste it here

your problem would be coze of info>player start (always add a player start)

you have to got a info>player start in your map or you ll got kicked every time to moh menu screen

problem with an entity ( rotating door often leaked or so ===> NEVER COPY A FUNCTION its messy !)

you can have a matter with a custom texture that use bad rgb color or bad format

look if you did one thing i told here .........

the best is to post the message error

log

Before you start your map, bring up the console and type "logfile 1". Then try to load your map. Find "qconsole.log" in main and post the text from it here. Also, try to use more punctuation in your writting!

wow ok

you have to make the difference
there is :

info>player start ( yes look well in radiant you will find it ==> right clik )
info>player allied
info>player axis

add an info>player start ,info>player allied , and an info>player axis and your map will be load...

just one info>player start would be enough...... if you want several spawn point add more info>player allied/axis

player start

Post by tltrude »

Every map needs just one Info_Player_Start in it. It is gold, and it is where players first spawn before joining a team. So, put it somewhere with a good view.

Yeah I will, but I have one more question... is there a way to combine a selected texture? Like if I made two walls right next to each other could I combine then so that the Ctrl F action would look nicer?.

i dont know if i well understand

you have 2 wall and you want that the texture of the wall N?2 fit with the wall N?1
is so yes its possible

if you have a three mouse button ===> select the wall N?2 (where you want to apply the texture) then clik on the wall N?1 and IN THE 3D VIEW with the middle button or your mouse ( notice that you had to tilk three mouse button in "edit>preferences of moh radiant )

if you have just a classic mouse ===> do the same as above but with right clik on the texture IN THE 3D VIEW

HOPE that help and that you wanted to know

Yeah I mean how whe nyuo put in something like a window the orginal wall that you had splits up in like 3 walls...but looks the same. I think you explained it correctly... but when I use my middle mouse clicker I just get an arrow thing that makes my grid thing larger or smaller... I know you said something about prefernces but what do I do in my preferences... I apoligize for the hard time i'm giving you.
