Stock Maps

Post by Smeghead »

Hi, Does anybody have or know where i might be able to download stock maps for editing. I have decompiled them myself and opened them in radient, but i cant get them to work again, they dont create there own .bsp file when i save them with a different name (other than obj team1). So i was just wondering if anyone had already gone through this process and knew where they could downloaded from, to make editing easier

Well decompiling them makes them very messed up and is not recommended. Any changes should be done via scripting. Therefore you won't find any source files for the stock maps, as it takes maybe a month or so of solid fixing to get them in somewhat usable format. Even then it still won't be exactly the same.

It's already been done. Check the bot section of the forum.

The old version of jv's bots work with The Hunt, V2 and Stalingrad as far as i know, while there's a new version (beta) that works only with the Hunt. Notice that the new bots are server side and generally rock harder.

have fun mate

also, you can spawn extra stuff that way too, just tweak the code so instead of a pthnode, you make a thompson or something.

Someone did reconstruct The Hunt.

I believe it was a pretty much perfect replica, the .map was available a while back.

Who did it ? Who rebuilt the Hunt ?

Someone around here is sure to remember.

Try using the search, search for Hunt or something, you might get lucky.
Philip II of Macedon sent a message to Sparta:
"If I win this war, you will be slaves forever."
The Spartan ephors sent back a one word reply: "If".

It was MikePowell1944, or something like that. I believe I saw him the other day around here...

You may try pm'ing him about that, but if I remember correctly it took him over 300 hours of reconstructing.

well,i remember that thread 2 .i even downloaded it .ut the church was replaced by some wierd looking house .i think maybe it was bighead or something .a search in the new releases forum will definatly yield a definite answer

but if u want to add bots to a stock map .then u will either have to wait for bots 2 (yes, the should be able to camp i think) or try to do like cheech did (or wait for him).he made server-side addons for the hunt and v2 facility and i guess he is working on another one.

he did release the v2 botified map here so try looking for it .

I did a remake of Stalingrad not The Hunt, and just because I have a passion for mapping does not mean I have no life/girlfriend lizard. :)

i was just teasing you m8.. :) but you oughta get a job with a level editing company since you're that dedicated. i mean, 300 hours of anything would kill me.... except gaming. possibly mapping.... but not reconstructing...
