Downloading custom maps

Post by Notorious »

Hi,
I have a question. I read the sticky: Compiling Errors - List 'em and their solutions
And it said when your map won't load or you get an error by compiling you're map and is says: MAX_SURFACE_INFO you gotta remove the custom.pk3's, but how can we mappers play custom maps? Because we can download them but if you do you can't compile anymore.... :?:
Plz help..

Before compiling your map, remove all custom pk3 from your main folder. Put them in a temp folder in your desktop. After your compile is done, put 'em back and play.

You don't want to play while compiling, right?

You can put the temp folder right in main. Also, you can make a shotcut to the main folder on your desktop--to move files quickly back and forth.
