Simple question...thx

Post by seere »

Ok does a map with lots of terrain take considerably longer to compile on the vis stage.
For example if you have a relatively "flat" map with a vis size of say...500,000 and then you have a map with lots of terrain but a vis size of only 350,000.
I assume that the vis proccess is that bit more difficult with the terrain version even tho the vis size is around a quarter less.
If I am correct in thinking this how much longer should/would it take..I mean twice/three times as long?
Anyone have an idea or a benchmark so I know what to expect pls.
Thx.
Seere.

lod terrain

LOD Terrain is invisible to the vis compiler. If your terrain is made of brushes, and not detail, it will add to the vis data.
