Forum running to fast?

Post by M&M »

if u have noticed this forum is one of the busiest forums on .map .its so fast that threads are only 5 days apart at most of the times if not less!!! other threads get pushed over the edge of the visible 1st page into the merky depths of the forum so quickly that u cant follow a discusion unless ur tuned 24 hours a day here  !!
dont u think more threads should be displayed per page in this forum specially ?

look at page 2 if you like.

it's fine how it is. this apparently is primarily an MP site, nbody has the guts or time or whatever to do sp it seems, i remember a grand 3 people doing sp maps that got reviewed, four if you count teh first brothers in arms map.

i do exclusively sp because i can't find any server to do any custom mp maps. why bother?

Sadly I couldn't change the topics per page for each forum individually in an easy way :( so I incremented it for all forums by 10 (60 topics per page now).

Also I unstickied 2 threads at the top of this forum thinking they weren't often read anymore:
/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5109
/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2234

Hope that solves the problem a bit

How about "view posts since last visit"?

If only you could filter that feature in some way, like specify which sections of the forum interest you.

The "watch this thread for replies" is a nice feature too.

ps: you're just 14 and you're already worrying about girlfriends?
What can i say, sounds like things have changed since i was 14! I didn't even know there was a social chain at that age! So when is the care-free, play-all-day age now? Between 5 and 6? :?

Start the trumpet fanfare for the geeks...
oh no ,geek party starting without me !!! how rude  :P

well, now that ur mentioning it cassidy .these forums (all of them) do need a few more adjustments to make things more easier .
something like the quick reply would really help alot (specially for 56ers since they dont have 2 load another page)
maybe we should start a different thread for this in general or offtopic?
Yeah I was gonna do that, however this thread refers particularly to this forum so I guess it'll stay here... anyway that's not a reason to spam this thread
MUAHAHAHAAA

now my point in this thread has been proven .i made this thread late afternoon yesterday and now its 2 pages long !!!!!

Hey hey hey... I said not to turn this into a spam thread

Hence I moved all the spam to the off-topic forum... ooh.. what a relief :D

 scary what an admin can do !!! :P

well ,whatever u do people wont read it because they are dumb (yes, that would include me) .unless its something catchy ,like 100$ dollar prize or something to get ur interest real quick .after u open the thread u find its a scam and its just pasic forum rules or info on how to "solve ur problem" .

seeing the "sticky" b4 anything is another way of saying dont
!!! READ FIRST !!!

reducing sticky's is one positive sign though since they take up space that isnt needed (like that dead community map of bjarnes )

well it's not only admins, tehy just have the ultimate power over all us mortals, their police force that is supposed to be doing this is the moderators, which haven't been around lately.

woooooooooow, you just cut this thing in half, just like that sandwich i just ate!
(so that is what split topic does)

totally agree. i've never done a MP map, only SP. I love messin with the AI and cool scripted Ai stuff, and Sp in MOH:AA was what it was (is?) the best SP in any game. also, servers i always get disconnected for no reason (no i dont cheat lol) and i find SP more interesting. i guess the fact im 56k adds a bit to that aswell.

and reply to other stuff.... admins are like, forum gods, watch out, they can change almost every thing on this forum if they know PHP, and a lot of things through the admin panel....

fortunately the .map admins are great, so no worry lol
