Sadly, recently our files database was hacked and our backups we have are not working. All the file descriptions saved in the database were messed with causing our file database not to be there anymore. We still have all the files and I will slowly start adding them to a new files database. This is not going to be a very fast process due the the large number of files we had. Most of the descriptions we had for files, I don't have anymore. So most of the files will only have a screenshots posted. In lighter news, I have added the new forums to alliedassault.us. This is just one step in improving the aaus site. Please come visit them and make sure you can log in ok. If you can not, please email me and let me know. www.alliedassault.us/forums I would like to thank all of you for your support throughout these years! I will be trying my best to get the files back up asap! Thank You CptPennybags

Thats real bad for Cpt Pennybags.

Such a nice guy and he put a lot of work into his site.

A big loss :(
Philip II of Macedon sent a message to Sparta:
"If I win this war, you will be slaves forever."
The Spartan ephors sent back a one word reply: "If".

yes it is a shame.

all the wrok, destroyed. and for what? some idiot sat behind a computer searching for any servers without Firewall X or Z to make easy targets, just for a laugh, or to prove they can. Because i cant see anyone relly wanting to hack it other than random site hackers... disagreement on forums may have trigerred something but unlikely.

its pretty dissapointing that ppl have to tear down things which could be such great things. we build things and then tear them down... i am talking about Virus/Hackers - the internet was a great invention, the WWW a fountain of easily accesible information, a place where communittys and friends can meet with no effort, at their home... but instead ppl have to use the internet as a forefront for destruction, with Virus creators and Hackers, putting users off, for what reason, making ppl spend loads of money on Firewalls and alike, Virus software, bringin communitys down for a bit of aknowledgement from fellow net hooligans?? because they are bringing the net down... its the same as hooligans on streets smashing up phone boxs etc. - y? lemme see... the phoneboxes are accessible, they provide emergency calls from anywhere... but get smashed by ppl.

i dunno... i ohpe he gets it sorted out, ill help with anything Pennybags if u stop by here, im sur many others from .map will offer their support.

i think we (we as in .map as a whole, like a project) should try to help Pennybags if we can, i.e. give new descriptions for files, re-write any lost content etc.

of course im not one of authority here a .map, though those that are, what do u think? i think it would be good to offer spport ;)

well, its just human nature .we learned how to make metal ,then we turned them into swords .we learned how to travel by sea ,then we made pirate ships !! we made the internet ,then the viruses and hack tools .......

perhaps we should be alittle more careful here on .map !!! i visit this site alot and i cant imagine what would happen if it has the same fate !!! jv ,try to find out exactly what happened over at aa then make sure it wont happen here
for all we know,it might be some guy who likes to tear down mapping sites
