Room Starting Sizes

Post by fillstar »

Hey guy's

Wonder if anyone can give a little hint on what sizes i need to start out on building a room, this may sound strange but there must be an arbitary starting point as a guide for all things to seem relative to the player. I managed to build my very first room "wohoo" and compiled it, no leaks first go... (i should be so lucky aye!).

But... yes, it is freaking huge when i play it, it would be okay if i was Andre the Giant, but yeah way to big.. So I wonder about this, sizes for door ways, windows n stuff..

Any clues ?

Try the "Basic Room" video on this site, it is great! Make it full screen.

I can tell you in my code what the sizes are...

64 units for a crouching dude (i think)
100 for a standing dude (again i think)
To get the right scale, build around your player start (its the right size)
