texture surface properties
whats the Horizontal and Vertical shift measured in? pixels? if so how do i convert those numbers to units?

under basic room the guy gives the measurements for horizontal and vertical.
I think he said horizontal was 0.75 and vertical was 0.65
I've probably stated the obvious for you, but that is all I basically know.

Acttually those are texture "scale" settings, AOC. Yes, I think the texture "shifts" are in pixels. The number of pixels per grid uint would depend on the screen resolution. So, there is know way to tell for sure.
You could do a test with a one unit brush above another brush while you "shift" the texture.
One nice feature I just recently learned is that the texture settings can be copied for one brush to another--using the center mouse button with 3 button mouse set. That sure would of saved me a lot of time shifting textures, had I know it back in my early map making days!

Hey, you did tell him the texture scales that look good in mohaa. Recently I made a mohaa map using textures from a Starwars game. And all those textures looked best at 0.25, 0.25 . It all depends on the size of the texture image you use.
Texture copy
First you select a brush or a brush face. Then you click on a texture in the 3d window with the center mouse button--it is right mouse button if you have 2 button mouse set in edit > properties. The texture will be copied, surface properties and all, to the selected brush or face.
