That's what I said when I opened Radiant for the 1st time...You will get the thing...MadMapper wrote:I could not possibly use any engine using QuArK... it made my brain go boom!
I tested Sylphis...to heavy and unstable. I d/l A6 too. It comes w/o a demo game, so I cannot say how heavy it is. I also d/l a demo game that uses the A6 engine (reencounter). The game doesn't open, it says "Error on wdl script" or so...
It will be wise to choose a engine that is already complete and have no bugs on it. Something stable and preferably w/ support.
Crystal Space is still beta...

QuArK is the recommeded mapping tool for Torque. Partly because the latest version suports Turque in the default install, and partly because it is free. ( Radiant is a licenced product, you are not allowed to use it for your own games unless you pay the man )Krane wrote:I must agree, despite I was in love w/ TorqueMadMapper wrote:We might want to go with that as the editor is based of quake and mohaa uses quake so it might be most familiar... looked pretty good!
I think there is even map converters for 3dMAX and Maya

As I understood, it's $100 per seat, which means every mapper needs 1 copy...unless we'll use only 1 mapperMadMapper wrote:Ohh! well if you can use radient... and since the others arent really what we need... Torque still seems the way to go
And, in case of commercialize, we need to pay'em $495...
That's what i understood from here...
A free engine would be SO cool...I think we should try a little more others free engines 1st...I was not able to fully test A6.
thanks for adding meMadMapper wrote:page 3and everyone if free to join (according to yarik, who is in charge but has not been seen in weeks...)
few things: programmer i intend to learn, so i may not be able to, though i can program PHP which is extremely similar to C++ so I got good chance of being ale to
also, put me down for concept artist and... maybe Website Hosting. I can host a site, forums etc. free at LevelEdit.com, as a subdomain (which yes you can get a .tk to point to). The only problem is bandwith. Its not too bad - I host a lot of sites just it coudn't cope a .map style bandwith, it would go over my limit.
I can upload forums et. PHP Nuke if ya really want (tho i hate it, every1 uses it now, and it costs more).
Also, regarding any costs needed to be payed for anything, I'll do my best to contribute
